| On Monday, July 24, 2006, at 2 p.m. Bernard Kearse gave a talk entitled "A Novel Approach to the Gospels" at the Kanuga Conference Center near Hendersonville, North Carolina. Kanuga Conferences, situated in the mountains and affiliated with the Episcopal Church, greets over 35,000 guests annually at its several camps and retreats, including the community-oriented "Guest Periods" at which Bernard spoke. Utilizing mnemonic devices and mathematical patterns discussed in his soon-to-be published "Bethany Adventures" novel, Bernard demonstrated how these simple tools can also work for adults and reinvigorate their encounters with the very heart of the Christian faith - the Gospels. |
